A woman was found killed in Samal Island, Davao del Norte. The victim was identified to be beauty queen Kimberly Autida. Police reports say that the beauty queen was allegedly raped before being killed and left naked. From the information of PO2 Jovelito Tanza of the police force of Samal, Kimberly was a contestant in the Binibining Igacos and Mutya ng Samal 2016.
The beauty queen was reported to have visited a relative in Barangay Adecor in Kaputian but didn’t come home. Her parents were just shocked to have heard that their daughter was found dead while wearing nothing. Her body was discovered on Wednesday, July 19.

The autopsy of the beauty queen’s body showed that she had internal bleeding. The victim sustained injuries in her abdomen which caused the bleeding. This could have been caused by a hard blow to the stomach from the suspect or suspects. The time of death was believed to be 11 am and she was found at 1pm.
Investigations lead to the assumption that the Kimberly was forced to have sexual relations before being killed and left to be discovered in a muddy pond. A man believed to be a person of interest has been detained. GMA News identified the man to be Ricardo Sale, a 50-year old man.
Police discovered a shirt belonging to Ricardo Sale that was covered in mud. They believe that this mud came from the same pond where Kimberly was found. The beauty queen’s family is seeking justice over the gruesome death of their daughter. They call for a fast investigation of the case to ensure that they will get the right suspect and for the case to not be forgotten.
