Most people nowadays tend to complain about the often rude behavior of taxi drivers. Apart from that, passengers claim that cab drivers usually ask them to add a certain amount on top of the metered fare and are also said to be poor navigators. Because of this, majority of the commuting public prefer to use ride-hailing services such as Grab or Uber. However, there are still a few cab drivers who are simply making a living without having to scam their passenger.
Facebook user Cristina Tan shared her experience in her social media account when she hailed a taxi cab on her way home. According to Tan, the driver refused her, as usual, not because her destination was too far but because the old taxi driver was too sleepy to drive. The man, says the netizen, is already in his 70s and is old enough to be her father.
Because the female passenger did not want to be left behind in an unfamiliar place without any assurance whether she would be able to hail a taxi cab again or not, she instead insisted on driving the vehicle while the driver rested. Obviously, the old man refused thinking that Tan did not know how to drive a manual car. Eventually, she was able to convince him to let her drive so that he could rest but at the same time still earn.
