Pagod at Gutom ang inabot ng mga protesters na galing sa Vis-Min para sa rally sa Luneta

Protesters from Visayas and Mindanao on-board the ships chartered by the “Yellow Group” have arrived in the ports of Manila and Batangas later today.

It was reported earlier that the same group have rented six Superferry ships to carry people from Visayas and Mindanao to Manila, so they can attend the rally on Thursday during the 45th anniversary of Martial Law.

Local organizers said that there was a communication problem with the shipping company because the protesters are supposed to arrive tomorrow afternoon until night so they will not wait long, but they arrived a day earlier, which became a big problem.

The protesters who arrived more than a day before the actual rally on September 21 may suffer hunger and will have no place to stay, according to a local organizer who refuse to give her name because she is not authorize to give official statement.

Reports from Batangas port said that people who stranded there don’t know where to go as the ship was supposed to dock in Manila and not in Batangas Port.

“Malaking problema po ito dahil hindi namain napaghandaan ang pag-bago ng schedule. Dapat kasi bukas pa sila ng hapon or ng gabi darating para rally na agad kinabukasan. Ang malaking problema po namin ngayon ay kung saan sila patutuluyin mula ngayon hanggang sa Sept. 21. We really didn’t expect this to happen. Wala rin kaming bus na mag-hakot sa kanila mula dito sa pier papunta sa Maynila, at di namin alam kung ano ang gagawin namin sa kanila pag-dating dun”, the organizer told the chief of port security in Batangas.

Several protesters are already complaining of being tired and hungry, and without money to buy food.

“Hindi naman kasi naman alam na ganito ang mangyayari e. Ni wala kaming dalang pambili ng pag-kain. Naubos na yong pag-kain namin sa barko”, one of the passengers said.

There is no clear information why these people were convinced to join the rally, but sources who have knowledge about the organizers said that they were promised to get paid after the rally.

As of press time, the passengers are still waiting at Batangas and Manila port without knowing what to do, and where to go.
