RIO GRANDE, Brazil — The small and quiet community of Porto Alegre were distraught as the news of the brutal death of two men, one of them a teenager, made headlines on August 31st, 2017. What made their case so heartbreaking is the victims were forced to literally dig their own graves.

17-year old Wagner da Rosa and his 22-year old cousin Victor da Rosa were abducted by their rival gang. According to several reports, after being captured, the pair were then taken to a secluded wooded area in Porto Alegre.
To humiliate and torture them further, the rival gang forced the two cousins to dig their own graves. While digging, they were held at gunpoint and surrounded by at least four men. The two cousins’ horrifying ordeal was captured on cam and the footage immediately went viral on social media.
After being forced to dig their own graves, the pair were ordered to lie on the grave. Both of them were cowering. They covered their faces with their hands before being shot mercilessly and repeatedly with rifles.
The horror did not stop there. As if that’s not enough yet, the victims’ corpses were then doused in petrol and set alight.
All of these horrific events were captured on cam.
Felipe Borba from the Brazilian Civil Police said that they believe the pair were merely victims of several gang wars in the area, which are becoming increasingly violent and alarming.
“The cousins had no criminal convictions. From the video we watched, it would look like a fight between factions for the drug trade. A young man who was near the scene of a crime with a firearm was arrested but denied involvement in the murder.”
On the other hand, the video went viral in Facebook. As of writing this, it has already received more than 19k comments and 200k people all over the globe expressed their sympathy and support to the family of the victims.
