Everyone was shocked with the news of Franco Hernandez’s sudden death last November 11 in a boating accident in Davao, especially Vice Ganda and his “It’s Showtime” family.
Franco was part of the all-male dance group Hashtags that regularly performs on said noontime show, coming on board only in February this year. Before he died, Franco celebrated the two-year anniversary of the group with a song-and-dance number on the show last November 10, Friday.
The comedian-host took to Twitter and expressed disbelief over the sudden passing of Franco, wishing that it was just ‘fake news’.

Based on a report by TNP, the news initially broke out when showbiz reporter MJ Felipe relayed the unfortunate incident on DZMM Teleradyo to host Ogie Diaz. Likewise, netizens began to share more information on social media, albeit these were unverified.
After more reports came in, it was confirmed that Hashtags Franco died via drowning.
This broke Vice Ganda’s heart, prompting him to tweet: “Tragic. This is just so heartbreaking. Oh my God!”

According to showbiz website PEP, the accident happened in North Lamidan, Don Marcelino Davao Occidental, and not Davao Oriental as previously reported.
Based on the police report, Franco was on his way back to San Marcelino with his girlfriend, co-Hashtags Tom Doromal, and two other companions when a huge wave suddenly crashed on their motorized banca.
Franco and his girlfriend fell from the boat, but were saved by the boating crew. However, the young dancer was already unconscious.
He was rushed to the hospital but Franco was already declared dead on arrival at the time. He was 26 years old.
