Kaye Abad and Paul Jake Castillo started out as friends. Their unexpected love story bloomed into what is now a blissful a marriage. Kaye admitted that they were platonic friends that didn’t imagine ending up together, but now here they are. What they have is a relationship that taught them not to be afraid of knowing someone inside and out. Kaye even revealed that the thing she loves most about her partner was this,
“Kung ano siya, kasi matagal na kaming magkaibigan. So nakilala ko siya, yung lahat—bad side niya, kung ano siya, walang pagkukunwari.”
This dynamic has bled into their marriage. That’s why when Paul Jake joked about his wife being a cheapskate, Kaye welcomed the description with open arms. Despite her husband’s wealth, Kaye likes to keep things practical. There is no reason for them to start buying expensive baby products for no reason at all.
PEP got a hold of the couple when they recently celebrated their baby shower. With a baby coming, the soon-to-be parents were asked who would be handling the family’s budget. Paul Jake assured everyone that it would be Kaye.
Paul said:
“Budget? Siya na ‘yan. Matanda na ‘to! ‘Tsaka kuripot ‘to, so okey lang. Safe tayo diyan.”
Kaye chimed in:
“Grabe, grabe ako! Kung puwedeng ihiram lahat ng gamit…Hahaha! Sayang, e, ‘tapos lalaki lang din. Kung malaki na siya, like siguro ‘pag four or five years old, saka na lang siguro.”
There is no stopping Kaye from keeping an iron grip over her family’s expenses, now more than ever since they are about to start a family. Supplying the baby’s needs was relatively easy for the actress. She adopted the principle of not buying too many new things for a newborn, similar to what her friend Patrick Garcia and his wife did.
Kaye shared:
“So far, kumpleto na halos. Baby’s room na lang ang kulang. Marami rin kaming mahihiram sa sister (Erika Castillo-Uy) niya, e. I asked my friends—like Patrick Garcia’s wife Nikka—they said, ‘Don’t spend too much or invest on a newborn kasi mabilis silang lalaki, sayang lang. I don’t mind na hand-me-down. That’s fine.”
Here are the comments from the netizens:
