6.5-magnitude earthquake hit Mati City in Davao Oriental this Saturday, September 24, at 6:53 am, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). And although there were no reports of injuries and damage to properties, some haters of President Rodrigo Duterte blame him, and dubbed it as “karma.” Below are some of them.
According to Phivolcs, Intensity 5 was felt in the city, as well as in Davao City, while Intensity 4 was felt in Alabel, Glan and Malapatan, Sarangani province; and Polomolok, South Cotabato. On the other hand, Intensity 3 was felt in Tupi, South Cotabato Cagayan De Oro City. A series of strong aftershocks occurred in those areas as Phivolcs has expected.
As noted by the US Geological Services (USGS), the epicenter of the 6.5-magnitude earthquake was in Barangay Bobon in Mati, Davao Oriental and had a depth of 69 kilometers.
