De Lima galit kay Atty. Acosta dahil sa pag assist sa mga Bilibid inmates

Ginisa ni Senator Leila de Lima si chief of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Persida Acosta dahil sa pag assist sa mga Bilibid inmates sa ongoing House probe tungkol sa illegal drug trade.

“I’m wondering how is the mandate of your office being fulfilled by your appearance in the ongoing House hearings?” sabi ni De Lima kay Acosta.

Diin pa ng Senator, marami raw mga nangangailangan ng PAO assistant na napapabayaan nila.

“Hindi ba kayo doon sa pinakatunay na mandato ng PAO na ang dami diyan ng mga indigent na mga akusado na napapabayaan? You’re spreading your resources and abilities too thin,” ani ni De Lima.

Sinabi pa ni De Lima na may natatanggap daw sya na intel ang nare-rehears at ini-interview muna nila ang mga witness bago isalang.

Dagdag pa ni De Lima, ang mandato daw ng PAO ay i defend ang mga accused persons na hindi kayang kumuha ng private lawyers at tulungan nga ang DOJ.

Sinagot naman ni Atty. Acosta ang mga hinanakit ni De Lima sa PAO at diin nya na may invitation sya ng ComSec na humarap sa House committee.

“Preso ‘yung dalawa na yun kaya walang trabaho yun. Kapag nakakulong ang isang tao, wala kang income, our indigency test is based on income,” sagot ni Atty. Acosta.
