“Why not invite a moral theologian? Why not invite an international law expert? Why de Lima at a time that she is under fire? The priests could have made a better choice,” Aquino said.

He said he is not amenable on CBCP’s seeming glorification of De Lima, especially after a photo of the senator speaking at the pulpit after a mass was held at the CBCP headquarters’ chapel.

It can be remembered that De Lima spoke about her opposition to the capital punishment after the mass.

“There are others who could have been invited to speak against the death penalty,” Aquino said to a netizen who asked on whether it was right for a politician to use the chapel to speak on their advocacies.
