Senator Panfilo Lacson on Wednesday said that he intends to look into the possible liability of the Samar judge who issued the search warrant against slain Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa.
“I was trying to also inquire from my friends sa SC kung may administrative liability ang judge na nag-issue ng warrant against a government facility like the Baybay Sub-Provincial Jail,” Lacson said.
He was referring to Judge Tarcelo Sabarre Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 in Basey, Samar.
Lacson also said the same judge also issued warrants against Edgar Allan Alvarez, one of the alleged sources of illegal drugs of Espinosa’s son, Kerwin. Alvarez was killed by police in an operation inside another Leyte prison in August.
“Nakakapagtaka lang bakit sa Basey ka kukuha ng warrant tapos lahat ng raids ng CIDG bakit isang judge lang pinagkukunan? There are questions that need to be responded to,” Lacson said.[source]
