According to Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff, Gen. Eduardo Año, the cell is not to be treated lightly as they are led by Joselito Melloria, an Abu terrorist with a high standing in their hierarchy. Melloria is one of the next potential leaders of the infamous terrorist cell.

Reportedly, the Abu Sayyaf has no means to take Bohol as their new territory and are only out there to take hostages for ransom.

To hasten the mission, the President is encouraging civilians to take up arms against the militants. He also said that they should add all the drug addicts in the area to their hunt.

However, Defense Sceretary Maj. Gen. Delfin Lorenzana says that it will only take days before all of the terrorists are in their custody.
