Maaring Maging Milyonaryo Ang Isang Pulubi Sa Luneta Dahil Sa Aksidenteng Makakita Ng Bagay Na Ito Habang Nangingisda

Andoy (not his real name) is a fisherman from Samar. One fateful day, he went out to sea to earn his living. Little did he know that he was about to discover something that could change his life forever. As he was fishing in the middle of the ocean, he came across a huge, hard object that was white in color. He suspected it to be a pearl.
It took Andoy two years to travel to Manila with his kids all the way from their provincial home to make progress on his quest to authenticate the strange-looking pearl.

Unfortunately, Andoy and his family had no place to call home in Metro Manila so they opted to stay at Luneta Park as informal settlers. After watching a featured story on GMA’s “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” (KMJS), he decided to bring the pearl to the network giant’s headquarters to seek for help in authenticating it.
The Kapuso network assisted Andoy by bringing him and his children to government agencies that could confirm whether or not the pearl was genuine. The strange-looking pearl is 38 centimeters long and 17 centimeters wide, and it weighs in at around 8 kilograms.

According to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), multiple laboratory examinations should be conducted to verify the authenticity of the pearl and to find out how much it costs. Initial tests revealed that the stone possesses a rich level of calcium carbonate. True pearls, according to research, consist of a huge amount of calcium carbonate.

The BFAR also discovered that what Andoy found at sea is a porcelain clam, meaning it is a real pearl. However, the item should be sent to the US to study how old it is and to determine its market value. Hopefully, Andoy can use the pearl to give his family a better life.
