Valerie Concepcion shared the experience of being a teen mom to daughter Heather Fiona. Valerie was only 16 years old when she became a mother and instead of giving up, having a child made the actress more responsible. She was aware that her child needed her so she did her best to become a mother.
Having more or less 17 years separating them, Valerie became very close to her daughter. She opened up that there were times wherein they have the same crushes. Valerie became a mom that was also a friend and the two developed a special bond.
So when Heather Fiona turned 13 this month, Valerie couldn’t believe that time flew so fast. Heather Fiona is growing up to be a beautiful young woman and now she is entering her teen years. Obviously, her mother couldn’t help but dedicate a long, sweet, and loving post on Instagram for her.
“Oct. 25, 2017: Before this day ends, I want to greet my dearest one, the love of my life, my everything, my baby (Yes, she’s still and will always my baby. ) a happy, happy birthday. No words can describe how blessed I am because you are my daughter, because I have you in life. You are my source of strength anak. And I thank God everyday because He gave you to me. Don’t forget that I’ll always be here for you no matter what. Proud of you always. Thank you for all that you are, mija. I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH. Happy 13th birthday, my darling! P.S.: Waaaaaaaah! Sharing her parenting style last year on Kapamilya Chat, Valerie said that she wants her daughter to be open with her. But when it comes down to being strict, she will not hesitate to be a strict parent. Respect should always be there.
“Gusto ko ‘yong hindi siya nahihiyang magkuwento sa akin, gusto ko open siya sa akin. Pero, kapag kailangang maging strict, magiging strict din talaga. ‘Yong may takot at respeto pa rin sa ‘yo.”
