Kris Aquino has been hailed as the Queen of All Media for her hit TV shows, films, and numerous advertisements. Many were shocked when she transferred from her home network for 22 years ABS-CBN to its competing station, GMA. However, the actress-host has not appeared on any television lately.
Apparently, her friend and also former Kapamilya who is now a Kapuso, Willie Revillame offered her help so she could make a comeback.
Revillame confirmed in an interview with PEP.ph that he has plans on helping Aquino have her own show on the network. Nonetheless, the “Wowowin” host revealed that Kris’ new business manager, Arnold Vegafria contacted him.
Furthermore, Kris and Willie met on Edsa Shangri-La Hotel on August 24. Revillame said:
“Sabi ko, ‘Si Kris, ibalik natin, sige. Tulungan ko kayo. Kaya humingi ng meeting si Arnold, ‘O, gusto kang makausap ni Kris. Sabi ko, ‘Sige, usap tayo.’ Ayun na, kahapon na yun. Kalat na kalat na nga yung meeting namin kahapon.
Apparently, Kris shared photos of their meeting on her Instagram account.
Meanwhile, Willie explained that they have gone through same situations. In many ways, they are similar and often times audience misunderstands them.
“Tutulungan ko siya, tutulungan ko talaga siya. Hindi dahil sa anupaman, dahil mahal ko siya, dahil anak siya ni Tita Cory, dahil mabuti siya na tao. Wala siyang mean bone sa katawan. At alam ko, pareho lang kami na misinterpreted. Pareho lang naman kaming dalawa niyan, e, pero pinapanood, inaabangan, nagre-rate. Yun naman ang importante, di ba?”
Moreover, the host mentioned that he and GMA executives, Felipe Gozon, Jimmy Duavit, Bobby Yalong, at Annette Gozon have talked about Kris.
However, according to Revillame, he explained it to Kris that coming back will not be easy and will probably take time. All that’s important is there is an opportunity for her.
“But, you know, hindi naman ganoon kadali ‘yan. Siyempre, kukumbinsihin ko pa sila, baka ganoon, baka ganito. Parang ako rin yan nung kinukuha nila—slowly. And then ang importante, nakabukas na ang pintuan mo.”
Meanwhile, Willie has worked in the three biggest local networks in the Philippines. He started his own show on ABS-CBN, later transferred to TV5, and eventually ended on GMA.
Some were thanking Revillame for possibly bringing back their favorite female host.
In addition, one thought that it was Willie’s way of giving back especially at the time where he was always suspended in ABS-CBN.
