In a previous TNP report, we told the amusing story of a young boy who became an online sensation after his video went viral on social media this past week. Carlo Mendoza is a 6-year old boy from Tondo, Manila whose Facebook video caught the attention of netizens. In the said clip, Carlo was angry while expressing his sentiments towards his lost sister, Princess.
Despite his young age, the boy showed his courage and determination to fight for children’s rights. Carlo couldn’t keep his emotions in check and exclaimed that people shouldn’t hurt children. Apparently, his sister Princess left home because her parents hit her. People were impressed with his wit and his Facebook video received millions of views.
After this young boy’s video spread like wildfire, soon enough he was invited to guest on the show “Little Big Shots Philippines”. Little Big Shots is an ABS-CBN variety TV show that features talented kids from all over the country. The show’s host, Billy Crawford interviewed Carlo Mendoza and his father, Edgardo Mendoza.
During the interview, he reiterated his sentiments on child abuse.
“Kasi po bawal manakit ng bata, dapat po pinagsasabihan lang.”
Aside from being a charming little kid, his father also revealed that Carlo values honesty as well. As a matter of fact, his father recalled the incident when Carlo happened to pick up a mobile phone in the streets. They were selling popcorn in a crowded area when he found it.
Instead of keeping it for himself, Carlo immediately turned over the cell phone to his father so they could give it back to its rightful owner. As a reward for his honesty, the owner of the cellphone bought him tokens of appreciation. He gave Carlo toys, clothes and money.
During his interview with host Billy Crawford, the young boy also revealed his life-long ambition to be a policeman.
“Pag magnanakaw ang kumuha, hulihin namin yan kasi ang gusto ko paglaki ko maging pulis.”
