Smuggled Photos From North Korea Show How North Koreans Live

North Korea or the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) is the country that shares its land with its fellow Koreans in the south.
The Korean peninsula was divided into two parts in 1945 after the hold of the Japanese empire ended along with the conclusion of the World War II. The north part was then occupied by the Soviets while American troops took hold of the south.

Talks regarding the country’s reunification were undertaken, but conflicts and misunderstandings arose which led to the failure of the negotiation. Not long after, in 1948, both sides established their own governments. The Republic of Korea was then formed in the south while the north found the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Now, years after the division of their country and the bloody history that brought Koreans to where and what they are now, people from the neighboring countries and across the seven continents can clearly see the difference between the divided Korea.
With the rise of K-Drama and K-Pop in the world’s entertainment industry, it also brought South Korea a boost to their tourism. However, with the south is quickly rising high in the world, the north seems to be still living in the past.

North Korea was known by many as the country that secludes its people from others, even to the Koreans living in the south. There were also many documentaries that show how strict the North Korean Government is.

Claims that the rules of the North Korean Government were “absurd“, “weird“, and “selfish“ somehow were proven true as many North Koreans who tried and successfully escaped their country have already spoken. Documentaries and even some photos smuggled from the country prove how manipulating North Korean Government rules are. Just look at these 28 banned photos that were said to be a “No, No” in the North.
