Remember that horror movie that spooked all of us in the early 2000s? That was none other than “The Ring,” which featured a terrifying girl with long black hair who would crawl out of television screens. She introduced a new fear within us because it indicated that even technology can be compromised with supernatural and otherworldly forces.
According to US Magazine, the girl who played the terrifying role of Samara Morgan in the American version of the movie is all grown-up. She’s Daveigh Chase, who’s now 26-years-old. In “The Ring,” she played Samara, the evil villain seeking revenge on an investigative reporter after the latter watches a cursed videotape that relates to the death of four teenagers.
In fact, Daveigh was so good in her role that she earned the “Best Villain” award at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards. “The Ring” catapulted her into recognition, despite her antagonist role.
The source said that she now lives in Los Angeles, California. Afer her stint in “The Ring,” Daveigh appeared in lots of television shows, including “Big Love” in HBO. She also lent her voice to portray Lilo in the movie and television series of “Lilo & Stitch” in 2002 to 2006, respectively.
In a report by The Express, Daveigh appeared in “Without A Trace (2008),” “Cold Case (2004),” and “CSI (2004)” as well. She didn’t go back to her horror role in “The Ring,” nor to any similar roles after.
However, recent reports indicate that Daveigh got involved an event where she left a dying man outside a hospital and allegedly fled the scene. According to The Sun, she “dumped” the man during the early morning hours of February 15, 2017. They cited that the man was declared dead when the hospital staff found him.
The actress got arrested, but not because of the man’s death. Investigations showed she wasn’t the one who murdered the man, but she was responsible for bringing him to the hospital. The authorities declared that they arrested Daveigh because of an “unrelated misdemeanor traffic warrant.”
