Toni Gonzaga is known not only for her hosting skills but also for how good she is at acting. The actress-host has an upcoming film, “Last Night” with another veteran actor, Piolo Pascual. It is their reunion movie after working together in the blockbuster hit, “Starting Over Again.”
Moreover, Gonzaga has another job which she is passionate about and that is being a mom. She got married to Paul Soriano in 2015. The following year, Toni gave birth to an adorable baby boy named Severiano Elliott, also known as ‘Seve.’
Seve has brought so much happiness, not only to the couple but also to their families. However, Toni admitted that she and her husband have different parenting styles.
Paul is more of a fun parent while she has the tendency to be strict. Still, there is one thing they agree on and that is to not spoil their son.
“Ayoko siyang masanay na every time umaalis, merong nabibili. Kasi nung bata naman kami, tuwing magmo-mall kami, di naman namin nabibili lahat. Gusto ko, in a way, ma-experience niya iyong ganoon. Hindi lahat ng bagay sa mundo makukuha mo because in real life, hindi naman talaga ganoon,” Toni explained.
There are many struggles that come with parenting especially if it is your first time. No one is a perfect parent and you are meant to make mistakes and learn from them.
In an interview on “Gandang Gabi Vice,” the actress-host revealed that Paul once went mad at her for what happened to Seve while she was with the boy.
Toni recounted a time where she and Seve were watching animated videos of nursery rhymes together. The little boy was seated on her lap and was holding a placard made of cardboard.
The mom was so engrossed on what they were watching that she did not immediately notice what her child was doing. It was until she saw that Seve seems to be chewing on something. She then realized that he was eating the placard.
It caused Gonzaga to panic as the kid has actually swallowed the paper. She asked for advice from their nanny on what to do.
“Tumawag ako sa kasambahay naming sabi ko…’lumunok ng papel yung bata anong gagawin? Anong gagawin natin nakalunok ng papel?’ Sabi nung yaya, ‘Wag ho kayong mag-alala, idudumi nya yan.’” The actress recalled.
Her Mommy Pinty actually that it was okay to experience such a thing and she will go through more of them as Seve grows older.
