Mga Artistang May Pinaka-Successful Na Transformation Sa Mundo Ng Showbiz

In the Philippine showbiz industry, people think that only two things could make or break one’s career: beauty and talent. In a country that’s obsessed with physical perfection, newcomers are very much willing to go under the knife to achieve unbelievable transformations that will make you say, “Siya na ba ‘yun?”

However, other showbiz veterans still turn to cosmetic surgery and dermatologists to enhance a bit of what they already have. There’s nothing wrong in thanking your friendly ‘Doc’ for a bit of lift somewhere on the face or on your torso. Perhaps, a little tweaking on the nose is in order because fans favor a sharp nose over the pango or sarat variety most of us are born with. But some artists noticeably had too much fun with body modifications, making it quite controversial. Here are some of the most talked about transformations we’ve seen over the recent years.

Angeline Quinto

She broke into the scene when she finally won a singing tilt, after joining a few others where she lost. Aside from her established musical career, Angeline showed great comedic timing when she poked fun of her looks in the movies.

Gretchen Barretto

Dubbed as the “Madam ng Bayan”, she is one of the gorgeous Barretto sisters of Pinoy showbiz. After snagging businessman Tony Cojuangco, she’s not active in the industry anymore, but remained relevant through her high-class social media posts.

Beauty Gonzalez

A former housemate of PBB, she became an actress when she starred as the lead in the teleserye, Dream Dad. Beauty took a break from acting, but returned after she gave birth to a beautiful child.

Jinkee Pacquiao

As boxing champ Pacman’s wife, she was there through it all – from his small-town victories to Las Vegas wins. But as the stakes went higher, Jinkee also noticeably changed, in a good way.

Jake Zyrus

Jake was a singing champ in the barrios, but eventually became famous when Oprah took him, as Charice, under her wing. But he eventually transitioned to his current persona, after undergoing mastectomy and taking testosterone shots to help his transition into a transman.

Jonalyn Viray

She also broke into the scene after winning a singing tilt, leading the singing trio girl group, La Diva. After years of being a GMA artist, she transferred to ABS-CBN and changed her name to “Jona”.

Lani Misalucha

Dubbed as Asia’s Nightingale for her soulful voice, Lani left Philippines and her career to perform in Las Vegas. Upon her return, everyone was shocked with her new look, but still with the same powerful talent.

Pops Fernandez

Erstwhile married to Martin Nievera, she will always be considered as a diva icon in the music industry. Pops also appeared in a couple of movies in the 80’s, but has since mellowed down.

Vice Ganda

Known for his impeccable comedic timing, his movies are certified blockbusters in cinemas. Aside from his fashion-forward styles, his offbeat comments about everyday Pinoy life often get mixed reactions from viewers.

Xander Ford

Ah, we saved the best for last. Former Hasht5 member Marlou Arizala was vocal about his dream to become an artista. So when the call came in for a social experiment and massive cosmetic transformation, he took it and became whom we now know as Xander Ford.
