In showbiz, it’s not rare to see celebrities developing close relationships with fellow artistas because of working together or having similar interests. That’s why the ‘Queen of All Media’ Kris Aquino considers Kim Chiu and Erich Gonzales as more than friends but her ‘younger sisters’ in the industry. And she has taken to task of looking after them, especially from harsh critics and nitpicking detractors.
Kris is also quite the supportive ‘ate’ in terms of career as she recently sponsored the block screening for the Metro Manila Film Festival movie “Siargao” on January 4th. Erich is one of the lead actresses in the film directed by Paul Soriano.
Before the movie came out, rumors linking Erich to Paul already made the Internet rounds, sidetracking the movie’s promotion. Although both camps already denied the allegations, malicious talks still targeted Erich.
To silence the 27-year-old’s bashers, Kris revealed something rich about Erich: she has an affluent suitor.
“Inside scoop… meron daw dumadalaw kay Erich sa set ng Siargao. May pumunta raw, naka-private plane. But I’m not saying who,” Kris coyly said.
“Now you understand why kung bakit galit na galit ako doon sa gumagawa ng intriga about her at yung mga inaanak kong si Direk Paul at si Celestine [Toni Gonzaga],” she added.
Erich shrugged off the rumors and humbly said, “Sabi ko kasi, ‘Ate Kris, okey lang iyan. Bahala sila.’ Sabi niya, ‘No, hindi pwedeng bahala na.’”
Kris, however, was adamant in stopping the rumors. After all, she has become quite adept in serving up clapbacks to online bashers.
“Hindi pwede, kasi yung mga fake news na ganyan, dapat you deal with it. Because you have to live your truth. And yun nga, inimbestigahan ko rin naman,” she said.
“Tumawag ako sa inaanak ko,” Kris recalled, “sinabi ko kay Celestine, ‘Celestine, ano?’ ‘Ate, may dalaw nang dalaw sa kanya naka-private plane.’ Sabi [pa] niya, ‘So, wala talaga akong pangamba at all.’”
In a separate interview with showbiz website PEP, Kris said Erich is happier now compared to last year when she broke up with Daniel Matsunaga. Despite the press’ insistence, Kris didn’t reveal the guy’s name but quipped that he reportedly belongs to the Top 20 wealthiest families in the country.
